Bio
Born in Buenos Aires in 1987, he graduated from the Jazz program at the Manuel de Falla Conservatory of Music.
His training began on classical double bass with Carlos Vega and Javier Dragún, followed by jazz studies with Jerónimo Carmona, Hernán Merlo, Ernesto Jodos and Enrique Norris, and later masterclasses with William Parker, Joëlle Léandre, John Hébert and Carlos Lastra.
He leads his steady trio with Ernesto Jodos and Carto Brandán and belongs to the LEIBA trio with Santiago Leibson and Nicolás Politzer, while also joining Tony Malaby's quartet on the saxophonist's visits to Buenos Aires. His stage partners include Dayna Stephens, John Hollenbeck, Giovanni Guidi, Gianluca Petrella, Filippo Orefice and Tony Glausi.
Five albums carry his name as a leader. In 2019 the National Fund for the Arts awarded him its Creation Grant, supporting research into music for solo double bass that culminated in Isla (2020). Alongside performing, he teaches double bass in the Orchestras and Choirs Program of the City of Buenos Aires and in San Martín's youth orchestra program.
